Hi, we’re Allison, Chris & Parker!
We’re a Canadian family who loves exploring — and having a baby didn’t mean we wanted to stop.
Chris and I met in 2014 and have been travelling together ever since. When Parker joined our family, we knew we wanted to keep seeing the world, just with a little more luggage (and a lot more snacks).
Since then, Parker has joined us on flights, road trips, camping trips, hikes, beach days and adventures around the world. Some have gone exactly as planned. Plenty haven’t. We’ve learned a lot from both.
Little Parker Travels is where we share what has actually worked for us, what hasn’t, and everything we wish we’d known before travelling with a baby.
How Little Parker Travels Started
When Parker was born, we heard versions of the same thing a lot: travel while he’s little — or, alternatively, your travelling days are over.
We decided to find out for ourselves.
We started small, then kept going. Parker rolled over for the first time in Panama and got his first tooth in Thailand. Before long, some of our favourite memories from his first year had happened far from home.
Little Parker Travels started as a way to document those adventures, but it quickly became something more.
We want to help other parents feel a little more confident taking the trip — whether that means flying across the world or packing the car for a weekend close to home.
You don’t need to wait until your kids are older to start making memories together.
Meet Parker
The little traveller behind Little Parker Travels.
Parker is curious, social and very committed to making friends wherever we go. He loves being outside, exploring somewhere new and finding the one completely ordinary thing at an attraction that is apparently much more exciting than whatever we actually came to see.
Travelling with him has changed the way we experience places. We move a little slower. We notice different things. We spend more time on the ground. And sometimes the best part of the day is something we never planned at all.
He’s also our very unofficial adventure critic — and he isn't afraid to give an outing two stars when he thinks it deserves it.
How We Travel
We’re not full-time travellers, and we definitely don’t have travelling with a baby completely figured out.
We’re just a family that has done it a lot.
We tend to travel flexibly. Parker has always been pretty happy eating and sleeping on the go, so rather than building every day around a strict schedule, we follow his cues and adjust as we need to.
Sometimes that means a carrier nap while we're sightseeing. Sometimes one of us eats while the other entertains Parker. Sometimes we change the plan completely.
We choose activities we can experience as a family, pack the gear that genuinely makes travelling easier, and try not to stress when things don't go perfectly.
Because travelling with a baby isn't always easy.
But for us, it has absolutely been worth it.
